One Direction To Perform The Next

Yup, Directioners get excited... It’s been confirmed that the boys will be appearing on the live shows this year! We really hope they’ll be performing a brand new song! For the band, this appearance will mean going home in a lot of ways. They were first assembled as a bunch of solo artists who would have otherwise been kicked off! Thank God for Nicole Scherzinger, hey guys! She guest judged the show back in 2010 and provided the pivotal suggestion that changed their lives forever. Two chart topping albums later and here we are! Mark Sidaway confirmed the boys would be appearing on the live shows this year via Twitter. Mark is one of the executive producers on The X Factor. Shocking to believe, we know, but the boys only finished third on season seven of the UK’s X Factor show before performing live on The X Factor live tour, then hitting the big time with their first album. In 2011 we got to see 1D return to the show with “Gotta Be You” in week six, “Wishing on a Star” in week 8, which they sang as a group charity performance with the show’s contestants and “What Makes You Beautiful”, which they belted out in the finale. Weren’t they adorable. Oh, and this was the year that Little Mix won. Zayn and LM’s Perrie Edwards are now engaged. Keeping it in the X Factor family! They appeared again in 2012, giving the contestants some flippant feedback in week one before returning in week six and then again in the finale to perform “Little Things” and “Kiss You”, respectively. “Live While We're Young” and “Little Things” were also featured performances in the second week of The X Factor USA last year. Again, they returned during the finale to perform “Kiss You”. Simon Cowell has already confirmed that One Direction will be appearing this season some time on The X Factor USA as well. “They're coming in to perform I think on the third or fourth Live Show but that's the only role they'll play,” Simon revealed. So they won’t be mentoring anybody, in other words... Any ideas what songs they’ll perform? Let us know below.
