The cast of the CBS hit series How I Met Your Mother, appeared on The Talk earlier this week to discuss the end of their long-running comedy, and what they will miss the most (spoiler: it’s each other).

When Sharon Osbourne asked star Alyson Hannigan what she’ll miss most about her onscreen husband, played by Jason Segel, the emotions set in.

“He’s just, he’s such a wonderful guy,” Hannigan said. The actress then became teary eyed and joked, “I’m not going to miss him.”

“I’m not good at answering this question, at all,” she continued. “I’m on a daytime talk show, crying. This isn’t how it’s supposed to go.”

When the tables turned and Segel was asked about working with Hannigan, he held it together but managed to cause a few more tears from his costar.

“Aly taught me a lot about how to be a man, I gotta say. I was 25 when I took [on] the show, and I think we’ve all been through a lot personally. Aly and I have a lot of scenes together and we spend a lot of time together, and she’s always been there to listen to me and to give me advice. [She] saw me through hard times and good times,” he explained.

How I Met Your Mother will conclude this March after nine seasons.
