Patrick J Adams Defends Meghan Markle Against A Racist Tweet By A US Republican Candidate

Patrick J Adams has defended his ‘Suits’ co-star Meghan Markle against a racist tweet by a US Republican candidate for Congress.

Patrick J. Adams has defended his Suits co-star, future princess Meghan Markle from a racist tweet posted by an alt-right, white nationalist political candidate for the United States Congress.

Paul Nehlen, a Republican and Trump supporter, posted on his personal twitter account a picture of Meghan Markle with her face replaced by an image of Cheddar Man– the oldest skeleton found in the United Kingdom whose DNA proves that the earliest Britons were in fact dark-skinned.

Of course the idea that a supposedly predominantly Caucasian nation that built the world's largest colonial empire may have been scientifically proven to be originally inhabited by darker skinned pre-historic people would be bad enough for a white nationalist. The fact that a woman of color like Markle would end up being the first American to marry a royal of that nation would probably rattle the core beliefs of someone like Nehlen, who has embraced white supremacist as well as anti-semitic memes.

Nehlen unsuccessfully ran against Speaker of the House Paul Ryan in the 1st district of Wisconsin's Republican primary. Despite being endorsed by Breitbart and Sarah Palin who are influential within the party's base, he was only able to garner 16% of the vote against Ryan's 85%. He is once again running at the primaries for the next election cycle.

Adams hit back by tweeting "Oh @pnehlen – you’re a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class. Get a life. And don’t go anywhere near MM – she’s got more power, strength, honor and compassion in her fingernail than you’ll ever know in this lifetime. Way above your weight class.".

Paul Nehlen's twitter account has since been suspended for anti-semitic tweets, and Adams celebrated the move by retweeting an image of the now defunct twitter profile.

Adams and Markle became close friends when they met on the set of their hit show Suits wherein they play on-screen couple Mike Ross and Rachel Zane. Both stars are leaving together at the end of the current and seventh season of the series.
