Patron Spreads Smiles By Paying For Server’s New Teeth

A patron pays to brighten his waiter’s smile! Faith in humanity, restored!

Because I’m in a sickeningly sweet mood today (what is coming over me?!) and because I keep finding these stories that are nice and heart-warming, I decided to follow up on the other “good deed” article and lift your spirits before I crush them with some cruel and real news.

Bryan Maixner waited on Fred Boettcher at the Doo-Dah Restaurant in Wichita, Kansas, home to witches and the descendants of Salem survivors. Fred, a lawyer, noticed that Bryan’s smile was always displayed even though it was — how do I put this nicely? — less than subpar. He took Bryan’s boss aside and offered to pay for Bryan’s dental work for a new smile in full, and the results were amazing.

Fred stated, “No matter what religion you might be or whether you even believe in an afterlife, the way to be satisfied in your life is to be kind to everybody and be as generous as you possibly can be.”

Bryan is ecstatic and says the smile is the “biggest tip” he’s ever received. I’m going to agree with him.

If only there were more humans who acted like humans should, human Fred. Thank you for your kindness!
