There's a headline you don't see everyday.
Legendary Beatles frontman Paul McCartney hasn't ever stopped producing excellent music since the band's dissolution way back in 1970. Most recently, he wowed the music scene with the release of his latest solo album, New
, in 2013 alongside a tremendous collaboration with former Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear entitled "Cut Me Some Slack". The latter collaboration made rock history, of course, so it isn't surprising that he's been working in the studio with yet another big time artist of the modern age... but would you believe me if I said that it was Kanye West?
Because it is.
Allegedly, the pair have already cut a song together in secret, recently revealed to be entitled "Piss On My Grave". Though Kanye's reps have refused to comment on the legitimacy of the track actually being a collaboration, it kinda just adds fire to the building flames that may just inevitably turn out to be a total confirmation of their working together in the near future. This news all initially comes from PageSix
, who claim that Kanye has been "tapping Macca up for a while about working together."
While this collaboration hasn't been totally confirmed as of yet, I believe that it may as well be as good as confirmed at this point. The most interesting thing from initial reports of the McCartney-West collab, though, is that it could become a FULL ALBUM of work between the rock and rap icons.
Do you think that there is truth behind these allegations, and if so, are you looking forward to it?
It'll certainly be interesting to hear what a #MCCARTYE (did I seriously just type that) track would sound like, that's for sure, and with Paul going on the record that he would like to work with Kanye in the past along with everything else above, I just about think it's going to happen for sure. Call me crazy, too, but I'm excited for it!
