He may be over 2000 years old, but he's still an action hero.

Down in Barry Island, Wales, Peter Capaldi was joined by Ingrid Oliver back as fan favourite Osgood (Didn't she die? Ah well. Good old Doctor Who...).

The actors wore Union Flag parachutes for a rather epic scene this week, with the Doctor wandering around a debris littered beach. I guess they don't make Gallifreyan ones.

Although Capaldi  and Oliver didn't perform the jump themselves (probably something to do with not injuring the stars) it looks to be a thrilling scene for the ninth series.

They were both watched by Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald, who appeared to be holding a rocket launcher of some kind. It's all gone very James Bond.

Filming has been going on since January with very little in the way of spoilers, but what we know so far leads me to believe this could well be the best series yet, with highwaymen, robots, vikings, and parachutes.

Series 9 will air in August on BBC One.
