Staff WriterNever a dull moment in Justin Bieber’s life, is it? Yes, he has millions of devoted Beliebers across the world, but he has an equally formidable group of critics. And since the 19-year-old spent last Thursday night in jail, they’re convinced he should be handed a one-way ticket back to his hometown in Canada. In case you missed it—maybe because you’ve been living under a large boulder for the past month—the “All That Matters” singer has been running into the legal system at every turn. His home was recently raided by police after he was suspected of egging a neighbor’s house, and that ended with one of his entourage being led away in handcuffs for drug possession. Not to be outdone, Bieber briefly landed himself in jail for DUI, suspected drag-racing, and resisting arrest on January 23 in Miami. For multiple reasons, those anti-Bieber can’t show up outside his house wielding torches and pitchforks, so the next best step is to take their complaints directly to President Obama (Yes, really.). Someone has taken the initiative to create a petition entitled “Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card” on the White House’s “We the People” website, reports Examiner.com. The petition demands that the full extent of Homeland Security’ s wrath be brought down on the teenage pop star for his idiotic decisions. “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society,” it reads. They certainly aren’t mincing words. In a CNN report, immigration lawyers weighed in on the situation, and determined that if tests confirm that drugs were in Bieber’s system while he was driving in Miami and he’s convicted on the charge, it would complicate the renewal of his visa or any application for U.S. residency. However, the charge wouldn’t be enough to warrant deportation. The petition supporters are either unaware of the law, or simply don’t care. In less than a week, the petition has hit 100,000 signatures, and that means the Obama Administration will actually have to respond, according to Pop Dust. Chances are minimal that Bieber will actually be tossed onto the next plane heading North, but his opposition can hope, can’t they? Of course, the Beliebers are standing by him every step of the way. They’ve started their own petition on the site, which reads “The whole idea of Justin Drew Bieber getting deported is completely unfair. He doesn’t deserve this. … With your help, we can stop it. He’s human. He’s not perfect. The media sees the bad side of him. Please. He’s saved so many lives. Including mine. A lifesaver shouldn’t deserve this.” Whatever happens in the next chapter of this saga, Bieber should probably turn over a new leaf soon because some seem quite determined to make him rue the day he ever set foot on American soil.
