Tonight is the season premiere of the reality competition show, The Amazing Race! This season is the buzzed about edition, known as All-Stars, bringing back the most competitive, liked, or notorious people featured on the show. 11 teams will compete in a race around the world, performing challenges and having to overcome constant obstacles, all while racing to different countries such as China, Malaysia, Italy and many more.

Among the returning players are power couple Brendon and Rachel, who placed third on their initial season, and also are previous competitors of fellow CBS competition Big Brother. All-Stars will also showcase the return of the Globetrotter duo, everyone’s favorite Sri Lankan twinnies, YouTubers Joey and Meghan, and father and son Dave & Connor, who had to quit previously due to a torn Achilles tendon.

Host Phil Keoghan recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about what to expect this season, hinting that the initial first episode provide a big shock before the race even begins,

“The first big surprise for us came at the start — something happened that had never happened before in Amazing Race history. We had a team who was in a situation where they couldn’t actually leave the starting line. The opening of (the premiere) is so gripping; it was the most emotional start of all the seasons. That really threw all of us; it threw the teams; it threw the team concerned. It was one of those last-minute thing that really had all of us scrambling to work out what to do.”

Keoghan went on to say that this may be the most competitive ensemble they have ever had, and that it really could be anyone’s game.

“At one point, we had another first on the race, where almost every single team ran into mat at one time. That had never happened before. I literally had to count to work out where all teams were; I so confused what was going on. The mat wasn’t even big enough to accommodate everybody. That shows how close and competitive this season is.”

The Amazing Race: All-Stars premieres tonight at 8p.m. on CBS!
