After tonight’s finale of the new Syfy series Helix, there will be more to look forward to!
Syfy renewed the drama series for a 13 episode second season that will go into production sometime later this year, and is expected to air during winter of next year.
Helix is a sci-fi thriller that deals with an unknown outbreak turning those infected into life-threatening savages.
Bill McGoldrick, EVP of Syfy, released a statement confirming the renewal:
“Helix has built one of our most loyal and consistent audiences in its first season on Syfy. The incredibly talented writing and producing team have crafted a thriller that consistently delivered suspense, twists and high quality drama. We look forward to growing this passionate audience in what promises to be an even more memorable second season.”
After the L+3 ratings, Helix has managed to maintain stable ratings averaging 2.1 million viewers, and a 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic.
The show, starring Billy Campbell, Kyra Zagorsky and Mark Ghanimé, concluded its first season earlier tonight at 10p.m. on Syfy.
