Once Upon A Time premieres its sixth season tonight, and we at PopWrapped want to discuss the various characters that have graced our screens over the past five seasons.
Our Pop10 favorite character appearances on Once Upon a Time:
10. Mulan
We start this Pop10 countdown with the woman who fights for what’s right: Mulan. We were introduced to her in the premiere of the second season of the show. Mulan is played by Jamie Chung, and I really enjoyed how Mulan was portrayed in the show. She is tough and willing to do anything it takes to for what is fair.
9. Peter Pan
We were introduced to the Neverland wonder Peter Pan in the premiere episode of the third season. Peter was portrayed by Robbie Kay, and I have to say the direction they took Peter Pan in the season surprised me; however, I thought it was very interesting, and I enjoyed it.
8. Maleficent
Maleficent is portrayed by Kristin Bauer Van Straten, and she really makes Maleficent the evilest of them all. I love how she makes the character her own but still has those Sleeping Beauty movie Maleficent moments. She portrays the character in such a dark light, but, as you watch her throughout the season, you see she has some light moments as well.
7. Ursula
Ursula the Sea Witch, who is portrayed by Merrin Dungey, premiered on OUAT in the eleventh episode of the fourth season. She was manipulative and conniving. Ursula, Maleficent and Cruella are such an evil trio together. I hope to see more of her in the upcoming season.
6. Cruella Da Vil
Those puppies aren’t going to catch themselves. Cruella, portrayed by Victoria Smurfit, was introduced to fans in the eleventh episode of Season Four alongside Ursula. Cruella was sinister and manipulating, but it worked for her character a lot. Throughout the episodes, I really saw her character develop more than ever before.
5. Kristoff
Now, it wouldn’t be a countdown without mentioning some of our Frozen characters. Kristoff, portrayed by Scott Michael Foster, was brought into the show in the premiere of the fourth season. We are brought in to the Frozen realm of the show after a bit of time has passed from the movie. What I love about this character is his love for Anna and how much he tries to have a relationship with Elsa at the beginning of the season.
4. Anna
What is Kristoff without his lovely Anna? Anna, portrayed by Elizabeth Lail on the show, was also debuted in the premiere of the fourth season. Fans still get to see lovable and quirky Anna, but, as the season progresses, we get to see another side of Anna that we wouldn’t typically see.
3. Elsa
We couldn’t have Anna without her sister Elsa. Portrayed by Georgina Haig, she debuted at the end of Season Three with a memorable entrance that left fans wondering what would happen the following season. The bond she has with her sister is very prominent in their storyline. I think we get more backstory about her than we would have if we only watched the movie.
2. Merida
The red-headed Scottish lass, Merida from Brave, is portrayed by Amy Manson and debuted in the Season Five premiere. Manson portrays Merida to perfection; we can really tell what she is going through as her story develops and her character grows, which is why I think I can relate to her the most.
1. Robin Hood
We end this Pop10 countdown with the thief that steals from the rich to give to the poor. That’s right, I am talking about Robin Hood. Portrayed by Sean Maguire, he premiered on the nineteenth episode of the second season. Robin has a heart of gold and cares more for other people than himself. What I love most about this character is that he isn’t like your typical character who falls for the fair maiden. I think his relationship with Regina was the most adorable thing ever, and I wanted for Regina to have her happy ending so bad that it killed me when *SPOILER ALERT* he died. Why do the good ones always leave?!
There you have it, my Pop10 favorite character appearances on Once Upon a Time. Don’t forget to give us your thoughts on Season Six of Once Upon a Time after it premieres tonight September 25th on ABC at 8/7c.
