October 2014 will be an impeccable month for music releases. Hot on the heels of what’s to be a surefire hit in Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s full collaboration LP, Cheek to Cheek, on September 26, the upcoming month’s worth of releases will see new releases from Fences, Jessie J, OK Go, and You+Me. Did you know, however, that that is also the release month for urban folk musician Poppy’s Field’s debut EP? By “urban folk”, we literally mean that Poppy’s Field is a totally innovative new act dedicated towards blending traditional British folk sounds with totally modern hip-hop and pop-based influences. It’s something totally out of left-field and bizarre to depict only through words, but it really is something to behold, as you can hear for yourself below:
It’s been a long time coming for Santino Payne, the man behind the vision, as he’d begun songwriting at the tender age of 14. Always a genuine act, he’d impressed his family and friends with his work before moving on to perform gigs in London and Spain. Now, with Doll Face finally soon to be released, Mr. Payne is looking to promote his work to American audiences in a big way. Check out his Indie Go Go campaign if you liked what you heard above, as it details just what he’ll need to come on down to the States! Again, Doll Face by Poppy’s Field will be released next month by indie label Mint 400 Records.
