Col3man has been quietly working with some of the biggest megastars in the Pop/EDM game for the past year, assembling a dream-team in the process. PopWrapped is proud to premiere “Don’t Need It,” the debut single from Greggory Coleman Ellis, who is better known as Col3man, a 20-year old music prodigy hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Col3man was discovered by global EDM megastar, Tyson Illingworth, aka DJ tyDi, who believed in Col3man’s talent so much that he signed him to his own Global Soundsystem Records earlier this year.
Illingworth first heard the prodigy through an international remix competition and knew he had stumbled on something unique. Illingworth was so impressed that he flew Col3man to Los Angeles and began collaborating with him on tyDi and Wish I Was projects.
Illingworth says of the new project: “In my opinion, he’s already, at 20 years of age, shown a huge amount of depth and forward-thinking on this record. It pierces both the electronic and pop worlds. Col3man is classically trained on piano, giving this first song a really unique sound. I’m excited to be releasing many more from him, and welcomed him to Global Soundsystem Records with open arms. He’s definitely going to be a global hit maker.”
His debut single “Don’t Need It” features The Voice alum Michael Woolery and was produced in tyDi’s private Los Angeles recording studios. The mid-tempo Pop/EDM track is already receiving a ton of pre-release hype on radio and will be featured on Music Choice, Sirius, and XM radio platforms immediately following its debut on November 25th.
tyDi has, without a doubt, discovered a star. Col3man is as humble as he is talented. This may be the first you hear of him, but it definitely won’t be the last.
Without further adieu, PopWrapped presents “Don’t Need It”.
