The holidays are here and, if you're still feeling a little bit like the Grinch, we're here to fix that! Pour some egg nog, grab a sugar cookie, throw another log on the fire and stare out at the gently falling snow as you listen to our favorite holiday songs.

We've had some of our contributors list the songs they can't get through December without, and threw a nifty Spotify playlist together at the bottom of the article for all to enjoy! Let us know what you think of our picks, and what songs you would add to this holly, jolly playlist:

I'll Be Home For Christmas - Frank Sinatra

"This song is honestly super sad; but that's okay. Having a cleansing cry is good for the soul. When I listen to it, I just imagine all the people in the world who aren't able to be with their families during the holidays, and it makes me that much more grateful for the love that surrounds me constantly. Also, anything sung by Frank is always okay in my book." -Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

"Frank has that classic sound that just goes so perfectly with such a nostalgia-filled holiday. It's hard to find a man who can croon the way he does." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

My Only Wish (This Year) - Britney Spears

"I love this song because it's just such a bright, poppy Christmas song and Britney sounds so earnest when she sings it. It's also a guarantee that it'll be stuck in my head after one listen." - Mike Nied, Staff Writer

Carol Of The Bells - Pentatonix

"I love the power of several sounds coming together in unusual ways." - Christa Tintelnot, Staff Writer

"There are so many soft holiday songs out there, that coming across this one is a breath of fresh air. Pentatonix never fails to bring some stellar vocals, and it makes this classic tune that much better." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

Silver Bells - Bing Crosby & Carol Richards

"Bing Crosby strikes again! It's just not Christmas without his clear crooner voice. This one is lovely because it's about the actual sensory experience of Christmas -- bells ringing, red and green lights flashing, snow crunching, kids playing -- and, in that vein, it just FEELS like Christmas." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

This Christmas - Chris Brown

“I love this movie, and his vocals are always a pleasure. He's had his ups and downs, but no one can deny that he has a natural talent that is almost unreal sometimes. A beautiful cover of another classic.” - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

Maybe This Christmas - Ron Sexsmith

"This is my favourite Christmas song. It reminds me of being 16, when life was an adventure waiting to happen. Cheesy but true." - Ellie McCullough, Staff Writer

Jingle Bell Rock - Daryl Hall & John Oates

“This song is just so catchy and fun. Perfect for the holidays. Dance around your house and sing along to it while wearing one of those elf hats with the bell at the end and thank me later.” - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song) -  Jessica Simpson

"The song just seems so airy and open on the track. It's just a pretty song in general." - Mike Nied, Staff Writer

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Johnny Mathis

I like a lot of the Christmas songs from Home Alone 2, because it's an awesome movie and just makes me happy. This song is in the scene where he's getting into the limo eating a cheese pizza, and it's great.” - Robin Klein, Staff Writer

Chrion Beta Prime - Jonathan Coulton

"This song does what few even attempt -- create a truly humourous song for Christmas! What would your Christmas letter sound like if your family had been abducted by robot overlords (I mean 'protectors')?" - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - *NSYNC

"This song is nostalgic for so many reasons; but mostly it reminds me of a simpler time surrounded by great friends and no worries. Plus it's super peppy and had an absolutely outstanding music video that accompanied it." - Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

All I Want For Christmas (Is You) - Mariah Carey

"This is what gingerbread and hot chocolate by the fire sounds like." - Ariel Bradford, Staff Writer

"Who doesn't like this song?! It's the only one that I will more than happily play at full blast from the start of December and gets me in a really good, festive mood." - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

"I make it my personal goal every year to hit that famous high note. It's so bubbly and fun, and the perfect song to dance around to in your Christmas onesie." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

"Love, Actually. Need I go on?" - Michelle Dawson, Senior Content Editor

Baby It's Cold Outside - Bette Midler

“Apparently, people have been in a moral uproar over this song, but I simply cannot resist its jazzy rhythm. That piano is amazing.” - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

"Okay, I know this song in controversial. It's just the tiniest bit rapey and that is never good. But just as I couldn't help but shake my ass to "Blurred Lines," this classic duet will always remain one of my favorites. Music has no party lines; we like what we like. Trying to change that is futile." Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

"I don't care if there's a sexist vibe emanating from  this song, I'll still sing the crap out of it with Seth MacFarlane... once he figures out who I am." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

Last Christmas - Wham

"I've grown up with this song and, having often worked in retail jobs over Christmas, found myself unable to escape it. It is one of the best ever songs in my opinion, although Billie Piper's (yes, Rose Tyler) version is pretty good, too." - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

"This is the the first Christmas track I remember worshiping as a kid. I had memorized the lyrics without knowing the meaning, as I couldn't speak English at the time, but wouldn't settle for the crappy Greek version." - Lazaros Balakos, Content Editor

"I imagine this song makes every top 10 list -- and for good reason! It's catchy without being overwhelming, it's sad without being quiet, and it's bright without being sappy. Who hasn't lost a relationship and thought back over it at the end of the year?" - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

"I'm a rocker at heart, and while it's nice to have the slow Christmas songs, every now and then you need The Boss to give you a boost. There's just something so endearing to hear these guys rock out about Santa Claus. Plus seriously, I dare you to find another Christmas song that has such a badass saxophone solo. " - Shannon Beaty, Senior Content Editor

Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid

"This keeps me grounded in what Christmas is really about." - Ricketts Boxer, Staff Writer

"Christmas is not only about gifts... it's about people." - Christa Tintelnot, Staff Writer

Driving Home For Christmas -Michael Ball

"This song just makes me think of home." - Mairead Scahill, Staff Writer

"I used to work at a service station and so saw and chatted with lots of families and truckers heading up and down the motorways, making the journeys to see family and friends for Christmas. This song reminds me of seeing them so excited, feeling festive and passing on holiday wishes to me and my colleagues as they continued on their way." - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

'Zat You Santa Clause - Louis Armstrong

"I worked retail during Christmas at the mall for 7 years, and there were only so many Christmas songs that were on the "approved" listening list. This meant that in a 12 hour shift, I would normally hear the same song approximately seven million times. But this song always made me smile, and still does, no matter how many times I hear it." - Ashley Perna, Content Editor

Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - John Lennon

"I'm a bit of a curmudgeon when it comes to child choirs in music; I tend to think of it as emotional manipulation of the highest order. This one, though, just cuts right through that nonsense to deliver a message of peace for future generations." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Step Into Christmas - Elton John

"My dancing Christmas song! I love how Elton can switch up his styles and whenever I hear this, it always puts a spring in my step... quite literally!" - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

"Elton obviously knows his stuff and this is just one of those songs that's really great for goofy dancing." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

Mistletoe - Justin Bieber

“This song is romantic and sweet, and he was just transitioning into a more adult pop/R&B sound. I may have fallen in love.” - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

Do You Hear What I Hear - Glee Cast Version

"This song has power! The vocals and orchestra keep building into this grand chorus that makes you want to dance around your living room." - Marissa Messiano, Senior Event Coordinator

Hard Candy Christmas - Dolly Parton

"We all go through hard times and for some reason Christmas brings that out... and there was a time I lived it." - Christa Tintelnot, Staff Writer

The Christmas Song - Mel Torme

"This song gives me warm fuzzies. It always reminds me of decorating our family Christmas tree. My brother and I did all the work while our dad sat on the couch and barked orders and my mom made hot chocolate." - Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

"Toni Braxton's version was the first song I ever performed." - Erica Jackson, Staff Writer

"This is one of the most beautiful Christmas songs ever written. It gives me such a warm feeling every time I hear it. Although I actually prefer Nat King Cole's version best." - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch - Thurl Ravenscroft

"I don't usually get into the holiday spirit until about halfway through December, so I feel like this is my theme song for the rest of the year." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

Linus And Lucy - Vince Guaraldi Trio (A Charlie Brown Christmas)

"This always takes me back to when I was young, and a full piano instrumental is totally boss." - Matt Lawrence, Staff Writer

Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues & Kirsty Maccoll

"It's an Irish institution to sing this incessantly during the holiday season." - Mairead Scahill, Staff Writer

"My first Christmas in the metropolis of Belfast, I went to a Christmas party where -- like all good Irish parties -- a tiny session broke out.  When it eventually and predictably came around to "Fairytale of New York", we sang so loudly that the cops actually stopped by. I've never felt such kinship with people I'd known for a short time." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

"I hate to get a bit sombre, but this was my great-aunt's favourite Christmas song and she'd always put it on repeat when we went round to hers for a gathering on Boxing Day. She died two, almost three years ago, so whenever I hear or play this song, it reminds me of how much she liked it and how important it was for her to have family round at Christmas." - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

The 12 Days Of Christmas - Straight No Chaser

"As an Indiana University alum, I absolutely have to include the geniuses in Straight No Chaser. You mix the original "The 12 Days Of Christmas" with "Africa" and it becomes this  magical event that always puts me in the holiday mood. Their live performance of this in Bloomington from years ago always puts a huge smile on my usually Grinchy face." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

"It mixes together all of these great songs! It's funny, festive and amazing." - Shae Frierson, Content Editor

Good King Wenceslas - Bing Crosby

"My dad and I started singing this one -- he was the king and I was the page -- every time we were in the car at Christmas. We still belt it out if the opportunity presents itself. It is my favourite Christmas song ever, and it always makes me think of bundling up on the Christmas Eve drive home from my grandparents' house and pretending I wasn't sleepy at all. It's a perfect song of giving of yourself to those who have less." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Beautiful Christmas - Big Time Rush

"Big Time Rush is the best boy band ever, so their Christmas song trumps all other boy band Christmas songs." - Ariel Bradford, Staff Writer

Winter Song - Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson

"This song is wonderful and pretty." - Mairead Scahill, Staff Writer

Love Song For A Snowman - Evin

"This is the perfect pop/holiday song, and has been in rotation in my playlists ALL YEAR. She's amazing." - Zachary Jaydon, PopWrapped Owner

Blue Christmas - Michael Buble

"Michael Buble has always been one of my favorite artists. I've seen him twice in concert and could listen to his voice all day long. I don't like Christmas carols - I don't know why, I never have - but if Buble is singing it, I'll listen." - Michelle Dawson, Senior Content Editor

"The original lonely Christmas song! I'm not a huge Elvis fan (and prefer his rendition), but I love how he does it." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy

"My Nana used to play this, and though she has been gone for a few years, this song just connects our family." - Christa Tintelnot, Staff Writer

"This also happens to be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Judge me." - Bradleigh-Ann Walker, Senior Managing Editor

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love

"Phil Spector may have had some *ahem* controversial producing tactics, but his Christmas album is a thing of beauty. Darlene Love's pleading appeal stands above the rest for sheer emotional power." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

Underneath The Tree - Kelly Clarkson

"This one embodies everything I love about Christmas. The bells, the saxophone, the way she sells that nostalgic holiday feeling... Kelly has created an absolute masterpiece, and a holiday classic, with this record." - Zachary Jaydon, PopWrapped Owner

Little Saint Nick - The Beach Boys

"How fun is this song? Describing Santa's sleigh as a sports car was perfect for their audience at the time, and it doesn't hurt that it's catchy as can be." - Sydney Lanier Burke, Social Media Manager

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - Wizzard

"This song is an absolute classic!" - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

O Holy Night - Glee Cast

"The chord progression is AMAZING. I love singing and listening to it when accompanied by a harp." - Lara Meier, Staff Writer

Christmas Medley - Il Volo

"I like this song because the trio of vocalists are phenomenal and the medley has this majestic and classic holiday feel to it! The album is a mix of Italian, Spanish and English music that motivate you to start working on your opera skills." - Marissa Messiano, Senior Event Coordinator

Sleigh Ride - Ella Fitzgerald

"I love this song because it always seems to appear in Christmas movies. It makes me think of Christmas time in Manhattan and shopping at FAO Schwarz." - Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

Merry Christmas Everybody - The Lynn Slades

"C'mon, this is a classic!" - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

Please Come  Home For Christmas - Eagles

"This song also reminds me of Christmas movies, specifically Look Who's Talking Now, when John Travolta is off jet setting across the world while poor Kirstie Alley is stuck home missing him." - Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

Stop The Cavalry - Jona Lewie

"A Christmas classic, old school style, though I still haven't mastered all the words despite being nearly 30!" - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

What Christmas Means To Me - Hanson

"Hanson's music filled my parent's house on a daily basis and my cousin and I would hang out in my bedroom jamming along with the boys from Tulsa. At one point I got my dad to admit that he liked some of their Christmas covers - small victories, guys." - Shannon Beaty, Senior Managing Editor

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee

"I know this is cliche to choose this song, but I like it because it reminds me of Home Alone, and that one scene where Kevin puts on the fake party. I pretty much associate that film/song and sense of joyful mischief with Christmas." - Melissa Consorti, Content Editor

"I remember watching Home Alone for the first time years ago and long after it finished, and despite having seen it numerous times since, this song stuck in my head." - Rebecca Haslam, Staff Writer

Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney

"This song just makes me happy. I mean, it's Sir Paul." -Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

"If you could wrap up the 1980's, stick it under a tree and then open it on Christmas Day, it would sound like this. So essential for the holidays, I can't live without it." - Shannon Beaty

Silent Night - Nat King Cole

"'Silent Night' has been my very favorite Christmas song for as long as I can remember. It's so beautiful and melodic, I find it incredibly soothing. It always makes me so happy to sit in my freshly decorated home with a crackling fire and the lights twinkling with "Silent Night" on in the background. Nothing really gets me in the spirit like this classic carol." Dani Strehle, Editor-In-Chief

"It gives off the most beautiful ambiance while I sing it every year with my family around the Christmas tree... It's an Austrian song, and it's Austrian tradition to sing it at Christmas Eve with your family at the tree." - Lara Meier, Staff Writer
