SXSW SXSW
As I left the airport heading to my hotel on Wednesday evening, I noticed the city of Austin had a hush over it. The air was damp and I was so thankful for my jacket. I kept thinking, “Why didn’t the heat follow me from LA?!?!”. Being that this is my very first time in Austin and at SXSW, I received many suggestions on what to pack and this is what I ended up with for my survival kit:
  • Miracle Style Edge Holding Gel
    • Celebrity Stylist Trina Washington made sure my hair was festival “proofed’ and laid with this product so I wouldn’t have to worry about it for the week.
  • Orox Viator Leather Black Tote
    • SXSW is notorious for the swag and going back and forth to the hotel is not an option. It’s waterproof, sturdy but stylish, and big enough to fit festival essentials without being too heavy to tote all day.
  • Morphie
    • No one and I mean no one can survive a major festival without an extended battery pack for a smartphone. From hashtagging, live tweeting, and taking selfies, your full charge will turn empty very quickly. Unfortunately for me, I left mine in LA. I will be tweeting #MorphieRescue ALL weekend in hopes of a reboot from the good folks at Morphie during their awesome promotion with the St. Bernard Rescue Foundation.
  • Becca
    • As I anticipate going from cocktail party to panel to after-party, dual coverage will be essential. Ever matte poreless primer, ultimate coverage complexion crème, and the ultimate colour gloss will be a lifesaver!!
  • Celebrity Trainer Agostina Laneri in spirit
    • Just because I’m at a festival doesn’t mean I slack from eating right and working out. She has armed me with festival workout tips including things to eat that won’t blow my progress I’ve been making back at home.
While I was finishing breakfast and getting ready for day one yesterday, I couldn't help thinking about how jammed packed my SXSW schedule on eventbrite was, but felt nonetheless thankful to experience everything Austin has to offer.  Down below is my must see & what to do during your stay in Austin if you don’t have an official badge. Follow @PopWrapped coverage all weekend long online, through our hashtag #PopSXSW via social media and myself in person at a foodtruck of course. :)
