Singer/songwriter Tim Gallagher reflects on the risks of turning friendship into something more with his new single Just Friends.
“Just Friends was inspired unfortunately from a personal experience of moving from ‘just friends’ to a relationship and the consequences of blurring those lines. Risky business.” Tim tells us.
Tim Gallagher is one of the most exciting singer/songwriter talents to be emerging out of the UK at the moment. The Manchester-born performer incorporates country, pop, and soul sounds into his musical output, with his lyrical storytelling aspect being very reminiscent of the likes of Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, and John Mayer to name a few. As an artist, Tim knows how to draw a listener in and with the relatable theme of love and heartbreak running through his songs. He always releases tracks that strike a chord and start a conversation whilst remaining true to his impressive sonic roots.
“ Turning making music into a career felt like my own natural progression. I was brought up in a musical household, ” Tim explains. “ Both of my parents performed musically as hobbies and side hustles. Honestly, I can’t remember when the moment was that I saw myself pursuing a career in music because it’s genuinely all I’ve ever envisaged myself doing.”
Not only is Tim a full-fledged solo performer, but he is also a talented and ambitious songwriter. The British singer is also a writer for other artists, where he pens songs for a variety of acts across the genre spectrum. He writes for artists of all kinds, which showcases the immense talent he possesses as a songwriter.
As a singer, Tim Gallagher has racked up in excess of 500,000 streams across Spotify, charted on iTunes, and has had syncs on the ITV2 hit reality series Love Island. All of these incredible achievements that showcase that he is well on his way to becoming one of the most well-known faces and voices across the growing country crossover scene.
“My biggest project currently is releasing a new single on the first Friday of every month, for the rest of the year and most likely the rest of next,” Tim replies when asked about his plans for the rest of 2020. I have a few other bits and pieces – a live EP in December, some video content, and hopefully figuring out a way to safely play some shows in a few UK venues.”
Exclusively on PopWrapped, we’re proud to premiere the new single, “Just Friends”. Be sure to follow Tim on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. “Just Friends” is available everywhere, Sept 4.
