President Obama Reads Mean Tweets About Himself On Jimmy Kimmel

JImmy Kimmel Live added President Obama to the celebrities who have participated in the ‘Mean Tweets’ segment to the show on March 12.

By now, I am sure you are aware of the segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live that features celebrities reading ‘Mean Tweets’ about themselves. Well Thursday night’s (March 12) episode featured none other than President Obama reading a selection of mean tweets about himself.

Obama does not seem fazed by the tweets, despite this segment being known for hostile comments, and he even laughed at one ‘joke’, which read: ‘How do you make Obama’s eyes light up? Shine a flashlight in his ears.’

In fact, by the end, Obama taunts Kimmel’s selection of tweets by commenting,  “Those weren’t that mean, you should see what the Senate says about me.”

Kimmel and Obama also moved away from the fun side of the interview to discuss more serious issues, such as the shooting of the two policemen in Ferguson last week.

Obama said:

“What had been happening in Ferguson was oppressive and objectionable and was worthy of protest, but there was no excuse for criminal acts. Whoever fired those shots should not detract from the issue — they are criminals, they need to be arrested. And then what we need to do is make sure that like-minded, good-spirited people on both sides — law enforcement, who have a terrifically tough job, and people who understandably don’t want to be stopped and harassed just because of their race — that they are able to work together to come up with some good answers.”
