Filming for the much anticipated release of The Amazing Spider-man 2 is now underway and Sony has put out a press release and the synopsis does manage to shed a light in regards to what we can expect in this sequel. With that in mind, here are the details!
"In The Amazing Spider-man 2, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is one busy guy, taking out all the bad guys as Spider-man and spending some much needed time with the girl he loves Gwen (Emma Stone). His high school graduation just can’t come fast enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father about protecting her by staying away- but that is a promise that he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane Dehaan) returns and Peter will uncover some new clues about his past."
Along with the synopsis, the studio has in fact confirmed Paul Giamatti’s involvement in the film, although no details have been released as of yet. Giamatti is rumored to be playing “The Rhino”, and the studio has confirmed that “Thor” star Colm Feore will be appearing the film as well, but the part he plays is an unspecified part as this point.
Director Marc Webb did confirm via Twitter that the press release is the real deal, he also revealed that Oscorp, the crooked multinational corporation headed by Norman “Green Goblin” Osborn, will be included in the follow up in one way or another. To be more specific, the message did include a photograph of a strange round metallic device stamped with the company’s logo on it.
You may be wondering what that means, your not the only one! Now, while the main villain for this film is Electro (Jamie Foxx), Marc Webb has been hinting to us that there may be a larger role for Norman and his son Harry (Dane Dehaan) in a future film.
