After Microsoft turned heads with it’s announcement to support backwards compatibility, can we expect the same from Sony?
Shuhei Yoshida, who is President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, expresses his concerns about the leap that Microsoft has made on their 100-game backwards compatible venture. Yoshida exclaims,
“They showed a very short list of titles that work, and doing software emulation means you have to work title by title.”
He definitely is right to have little faith in Microsoft’s ability to support what they claimed at E3. I’m curious to know what 100 games make the cut to greet our Next Gen friend XBONE. Sony has decided their aim is with PS4 games not to go backwards. Yoshida claims that re-making the games will be more beneficial in the long run, due to the fact that not only will the games run faster, but they will be better then before. Do you support Sony’s decision to not support backwards compatibility? Will you buy the new games? What do you think this means for technology and gamers? Let me know, guys! Happy Gaming!
