Are you a fan of Psycho Pass and videogames? If so, then NIS America has delivered a good piece of news.

On Monday, NIS America announced it has licensed and will release Mages and 5pb.’s Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita this year, sometime in the fall. Although the game was released in Japan for the Xbox One on May 28, it will not be released on the Xbox One by NIS America.

Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness will be available both digitally and physically – the game will feature the Japanese voice cast with English subtitles and has been described as a visual novel of sorts.

The original story for the game has been formed by Nitroplus while Gen Urobuchi provided the games “original plan and scenario supervision.” The game takes place during the first 6 episodes of the first anime season, but “it shifts the setting from downtown to an isolated island.”

The game will feature two new protagonists, one male and one female. The duo will face a brand new enemy and characters that we know, love and hate from the anime series will make an appearance as well.

Psycho Pass is an original anime that premiered in 2012 with 22 episodes total. The second season debuted in 2014 followed shortly by a Psycho Pass film, which will be released in the U.S. by Funimation this March. Funimation holds the license to the entire series and has released the first one on Blu-ray and DVD.

Funimation describes the twisted plot of Psycho Pass as the following:

“Get ready for Psycho-Pass, a hardboiled, gun-slinging sci-fi series from the creator of Madoka Magica and the studio that brought you Ghost in the Shell.

In the future, even just thinking about a crime is enough to make you guilty – and justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. Detectives work in teams made up of Enforcers and Inspectors. Enforcers take out the bad guys, and Inspectors make sure their partners don’t cross the fine line between good and evil. The great equalizer in the war against thugs is the Dominator, a futuristic weapon that can read minds and assess the probability that a citizen will turn criminal. There are no trials. Only Enforcers, Inspectors, and the Dominator. Commit a crime in your mind – and the Dominator will make sure you pay the ultimate price.”
