@MikeShambo The controversial punk-rock band, Pussy Riot, came under attack once again, this time while trying to record a new song near the Olympic Games in Sochi. In the midst of recording, Russian Cossack militia members and plainclothes security men came after the group with whips and teargas, eventually detaining members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina as well as the other member of the group. Consisting of five women and one man, Pussy Riot was confronted on Wednesday approximately 20 miles from where the games are being held. As the group was being swarmed, The Cossacks proceeded to remove the masks of the people in the band as well as throw away the group’s guitar. The male member of the group came away with a bloody face after being pushed to the ground by the police. "Cossacks attacked Pussy Riot by a Sochi 2014 banner, hitting us with whips and spraying us with teargas, as we were singing the song 'Putin Will Teach You to Love the Motherland'," wrote Tolokonnikova via her Twitter account. Tolokonnikova and Alekhina were released from jail in December, where they were infamously sent to prison after their performance in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This past Sunday the group arrived in Sochi and since then they have been detained multiple times, including spending several hours in police detention on Tuesday. After several hours of questioning about being in suspicion of stealing a woman’s handbag, they were released. The attack on Wednesday lasted for a few minutes but ultimately no arrests were made. Later in the day, the band conducted another surprise performance, this time next to the Olympic Rings in front of the City Hall. Police stood by this time without making a move on the group as they watched them perform another edition of "Putin Will Teach You How To Love The Motherland!"
