Simon goes to Ryan with a voicemail from Alex; she's trying to recruit his help to get to a CIA asset and Simon wants Ryan to stop her. Of course, this is a trap. Simon slips a tracker onto Ryan, who goes straight to Liam for access to the asset.
The terrorist (aka The Voice) wants this asset, so Alex and Simon want to question him and get closer to figuring out what The Voice's plot is.
Liam gets Ryan a ten minute meeting with the asset, but Alex was eavesdropping. She and Simon impersonate Nimah and Ryan to get to the asset, who turns out to be Will from Quantico...
They break Will out of the safehouse, and he later tells them that he hacked the NSA and memorized all of the military codes, which may be what The Voice wants from him.
Will convinces them to surrender him to The Voice. He explains that they'll have someone on the other side to feed them information. Simon and Alex agree; at the drop off point, though, The Voice insists that Alex let Simon get into the SUV that pulls up too. Tearfully, she lets him go and gives up the cell phone to the driver of the car...Shelby.
In the last episode, Caleb confessed to Will that he took on a second identity to infiltrate Systemics, a church that his best friend is a part of; Caleb thinks his friend is in danger. However, Systemics recently got a new leader, who knows Caleb and won't fall for his trick. Will volunteers to take Caleb's place.
Liam announces to everyone that Ryan has returned to assist him while Miranda is gone.
Caleb and Alex convince Shelby to meet her parents, who have sent word that they want to see her. They reveal that their company sold the weaponry that was used in the 9/11 attacks, although they didn't know what it would be used for. They had to flee the country to avoid being arrested.
Caleb later discovers that her parents only showed up to get more money. He threatens to call the FBI if they don't disappear for good, so they do.
During an exercise, Alex and Drew are teamed up as usual...and end up sleeping together. DAMMIT, ALEX.
