Rumors are flying in the music industry that Lady Gaga and Britney Spears may be collaborating soon. At least according to will.i.am. He recently hinted that these two pop idols would be joining together (musically speaking).
If this is true, it will be the first time since 2008 that Gaga and Spears have collaborated. Their last piece was the song “Quicksand”. This track, which was written by the Mother Monster, was an extra piece for the pop princess’s album Circus.
What exactly spurred this rumor? Two little Tweets. The first showing Gaga’s ARTPOP album cover. The second, will.i.am complimenting the image along with #creativeALIEN.
This might not sound big. But, today (October 15) Ms. Spears has revealed that there would be collaborations on her new album. She also released the title of her song that she is recording with William Orbit. It’s name? Aliens. To further flame the rumor fire, will.i.am is acting as executive producer for Spears’ eighth studio album, Britney Jean.
Perhaps there is nothing to these things. Separately, they definitely seem like coincidences. However, together, these tidbits create an interesting picture. With all this evidence, it’s hard not to wonder if something is cooking between Gaga, Spears, and will.i.am.
