R. City is a duo of brothers that have been working together behind the scenes of the music industry for a while now. The two of them have now decided to spend some time in the spotlight and have released their very first, label-supported single “Locked Away”, which features Adam Levine.

The Dr. Luke-produced track finds the Thomas brothers working their magic on the verses of the island-influenced urban-pop melody, before Adam Levine comes in to sing the catchy chorus hook. The accompanying visuals find the two R. City bandmates going through some really tough times, which according to them were inspired by their own childhood memories of an imprisoned father. In between the storyline, the Maroon 5 frontman appears with his head shaved to deliver his parts.

“Locked Away” serves as the lead single to be lifted from the duo’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled debut studio album and it’s a follow-up to the 2 Chianz-assisted “I’m That…”. R. City most recently crafted hits for the likes of Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ciara and Iggy Azalea.
