Articles about Cee-Lo Green’s rape comments have been all around the web lately and despite some damage control taking place, things have not turned out quite well for the former coach of The Voice. As announced, following the controversy caused by the media outbreak of his comments, the singer was dropped from a couple of concerts that he was scheduled to appear.

Reportedly, the 40-year-old is no longer in the line-up of a Freedom Live concert that is set to take place in the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling military installation in Washington, D.C. The US army-sponsored event will not see the “F**k You” singer getting on the stage along with country group, Little Big Town, as the organizers announced. The news came from Freedom Live’s page on Facebook:

“We seek a Department-wide culture of gender dignity and respect where sexual assault is completely eliminated and never tolerated, where sexual assault victims receive compassionate and coordinated support, and where offenders are held appropriately accountable. Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to completely inconsistent with Navy core values. Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable.  As a result, we have made the decision to pull Cee-Lo Green from the Freedom Live event on 20 September.”

Cee-Lo was also scheduled to headline the Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana, which was also called off. Actually, the singer was replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and it was made official through the festival’s official Facebook page.

Cee-Lo Green has been removed from the #GretnaFest line-up, as he does not represent the festival’s wholesome family environment.

The infamous rape comments posted on the singer’s Twitter page basically stated that someone who is unconscious is not actually present and people who have been raped remember it, suggesting no rape took place since there is no evidence. He later went on to call his words idiotic, untrue and not what he believed.
