Last year, Emmy-award winning actor Ray Romano joined the cast of the hit show Parenthood during its fourth season.Given how the season ended, with Sarah (Lauren Graham) choosing Romano’s Hank Rizzoli over her fiancé, Mark (Jason Ritter), fans were anxious to know if Hank would be back.
This year at the ATX Television Festival in Auston, TVLine asked David Hudgins, Parenthood's executive producer if Ray would be returning for season five and h replied:
"We’re currently discussing it. I love Ray Romano and thought he was so good on the show last year… He’s great in that part and he works hard. He doesn’t just show up and do his [scenes]; he actually researched the character."
Now we can bring you the news that he will indeed be returning. The show’s official website has announced that Romano will be returning to the NBC show as Sarah’s photographer boss-now-boyfriend, Hank.
According to Deadline, he’s due to appear in twelve to fifteen new episodes.
Parenthood is based around the 1989 movie that starred Steve Martin and was directed by Ron Howard.
