With books geared towards strong, empowered female characters on the rise, it’s no wonder their cinematic counterparts are being drawn out longer than before. Both the Divergent and The Hunger Games trilogies are receiving the split final movie, leaving more room for relevant plot devices (and some fan-inspired twists) to make it onto the big screen.

Mockingjay, Part 2 is soon to be released, and will mark the end of The Hunger Games‘ movie run. We will have watched Katniss go from volunteering as a tribute in the gladiatorial Games to rising up as leader of a rebellion against the Capitol. It will be a touching moment for all of us who have laughed, cried, and loved first with book!Katniss and now with JLaw!Katniss.
