Her love for music translated into her decision to pursue a career in the field. She received a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley and began performing professionally upon graduation.
With more than 23 years of experience in the recording industry, Rebecca Jade has developed a reputation for herself that resolves around her versatile yet distinct vocal stylings. Over the years she has worked with many prolific artists and producers all while pursuing a solo career.
This year Jade is set to release an album titled A Shade of Jade, and she is kicking the promotions off with the project's lead single "Weather The Storm."
"Weather The Storm" sees the soulful songstress moving on from a broken heart, as she sings over a lush instrumental production. There is a poetry to the lyrics, as Jade sings about falling into the thrall of winter after losing her lover. Referring to her ex as her fall, it is easy to imagine that her world has been leeched from the burning passion and color of a fall landscape and being abandoned in an icy tundra of heartache. Although she is broken hearted, Rebecca resolutely decides to move forward. She's determined to weather the storm.
The lush track resonates with the soul of a blues performance, yet Rebecca Jade puts her own spin on the performance. Her voice is glorious and confident in the final moments, and it is easy to believe that the heartbroken songstress will find her happiness again. She'll move on from the winter and into the blossoming beauty of a fine spring day!
The accompanying music video sees the songstress channeling a classic Old Hollywood glamour on an airbase. Dressed in a beautiful dresses with her hair set in luxurious curls Jade performs the single across the air base. In her bold colors Rebecca Jade is the one spot of color on the base, but she seems restrained by her personal storms. As the visual progresses Jade embarks upon a plane ride and pensively looks down as she leaves her troubles behind. In the final moments the color comes back into the world and the plane flies off into a gloriously blue sky. It's evident that Rebecca Jade is finally free of her storms, and she's flying towards a happier tomorrow!
