If you’ve ever felt like Red Bull failed to “give you wings”, you can claim a $10 refund from the energy drink brand. The massive payout is part of a settlement Red Bull agreed to after plaintiff Benjamin Careathers led a class-action lawsuit against the company for false advertising.
The suit contended that the drink only provided a mild caffeine-induced energy boost, and none of its claims of “increased reaction speed, performance and concentration” had any scientific backing. The terms of the settlement cover purchases all the way back to 2002, allowing millions of consumers the opportunity to receive compensation. The company is expected to pay out over $13 million.
