Remington Steele, the 1980’s drama/romantic comedy/police procedural drama is set to get a revival. Deadline has revealed that NBC is planning to relaunch the show as a half-hour comedy.

The original series starred Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt, who opens her own agency but soon discovers that potential clients refuse to hire a woman. Cue Pierce Bronson as Remington Steele, the fictitious head of the agency, who in actuality is nothing more than a con-man.

Throughout the show’s five years on the air, and the five years of sexual tension that came along for the ride, it’s not until the series finale that Holt and Steele finally get together. It’s a result of this “coming together” that NBC has decided to give the series a make-over.

Fast forward 30 years from the finale, and it’s now Laura and Remington’s daughter, Olivia Holt, who is reopening the once famed Remington Steele Detective Agency and ends up in the same “hilarious, action-packed, romantic entanglements of her parents.”
