Eric Kripke, the man behind TV’s Revolution, is adding another familiar face to the cast for season 2 when he reunites with former Supernatural colleague, Jim Beaver.
TVLine have reported that Beaver will join the cast as John Franklin Fry in an episode titled “One Riot, One Ranger”. Beaver’s character is described as “a hard-ass, whip smart Texas Ranger who allies with Miles”.
The episode set to air in mid-October will also mark the debut of former Supernatural writer Ben Edlund, who will gain his first Revolution writing credit.
Beaver is not the first Supernatural alum to have crossed over into the Revolution world, with former cast members Mark Pellegrino, Todd Stashwick and Colin Ford having already appeared during the show’s first season.
No stranger to the small screen, Jim Beaver has had roles on Justified, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Harper’s Island, Mike & Molly and more. Aside from his upcoming guest starring role on Revolution, the actor is also due to return for the ninth season of Supernatural reprising his role of Bobby Singer when the series returns this October.
Revolution is scheduled as part of NBC’s Wednesday night line up and will return to screens September 25 at 8/7c. Supernatural returns to The CW Tuesday, October 9 at 9/8c.
