Actor and singer Justin Timberlake dismissed rumors that he would play The Riddler in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie.
We first reported on this rumor back in August when Timberlake spoke to Fresh 102.7 about the movie.
“I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is The Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain.”
However when he was interviewed Extra on the red carpet of his new movie Runner, Runner, which coincidentally stars the new caped crusader himself Ben Affleck, Timberlake was keen to dispel any rumors. “No, no, no, no,” Timberlake said. “That was unfortunately taken out of context. Fanboys rejoice. I have no aspirations of that.”
In response to the rumor that he may be reuniting with Timberlake in the new Batman movie, Affleck gleefully supported his co-star saying “I think Justin can do anything.”
Despite not appearing in the film, Timberlake expressed his excitement for Affleck. “I think he’s going to make a great Batman.”
Earlier in the week Affleck also said that the comments being made about him becoming the new Batman do not worry him at all, and he can’t wait to play the comic book superhero.
So just who will play the arch nemesis to Affleck’s Batman? Considering we have to wait until July 2015 for the release there will probably be many more names mentioned for the project and as we know many won’t be true.
