At the end of the episode a memorial card was shown onscreen: “In Loving Memory of Lee Thompson Young, 1984-2013” which was followed by footage of the actor as Detective Barry Frost, the character he played in the series since the pilot episode.

The production of the series stopped when the news of Young’s death was announced and it is unknown when it will resume.

The body of the star was found in his Los Angeles apartment on Monday and his manager has stated that the star apparently committed suicide.

Rizzoli &Isles executive producer Janet Tamaro released a statement on behalf of TNT and Warner Bros, saying,” Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Le will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and most especially, to his beloved mother.”

Young is also known for roles in Friday Night Lights, Scrubs and in The Famous Jett Jackson.
