Earth 2 has brought some interesting potential to The Flash like the ability to bring the dead back to life.  Ok, not the actual dead but their twin.  According to Entertainment Weekly, we will see the return of Robbie Amell on the second half of The Flash season 2.  He will play Ronnie Raymond of Earth 2 but probably not as a hero this time.  So far Earth 2 brought back Harrison Wells, and for the first time we’re getting to know the real Wells, since the “Wells” we met last season was actually Eobard Thawne the whole time.  Who else has the potential to come back?  Eddie?

Ronnie Raymond coming back brings an interesting aspect to the new show.  We all saw Caitlin Snow devastated by the loss of Ronnie twice and now he’s going to show up again.  The trick is, this time he isn’t the Ronnie who loved her.  To top that off (Spoilers!), in the winter finale, Caitlin and Jay finally kissed!  What will happen to that budding romance?  Caitlin certainly won’t be able to ignore the face of her former fiance and husband. 

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had this to say on the return: “You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.” 

Fun fact about the return of Ronnie is that he is a villain on Earth 2 , and he’s romantically linked with another villain who’s strangely like Caitlin Snow, is Earth 2’s answer to our Caitlin Snow.  So maybe he’ll look her way as well upon his arrival after all.  Maybe our Caitlin will help save the day by showing him the good, or he might just tempt our Caitlin to the dark side.  We can’t know anything until the show returns and we see what the brilliant team behind The Flash do.  What do you guys think of this return?
