Robbie Williams looks poised for a triumphant return with his upcoming album, Swings Both Ways. On November 11, the Brit will be releasing his first single off the swing-themed album, which is a sort of follow-up to Williams’ 2001 LP, Swing When You’re Winning. The music video for the upcoming single, called “Go Gentle,” has already hit the web. While it takes place in present day Los Angeles, there’s a definite fifties vibe to it. Williams and a group of men dressed as sailors ride down a crowded street on an old fashioned ship, while Williams - dressed like the ship’s captain - stands at the bow and croons. There’s also no mistaking Williams for anything but a full-blooded Brit, given the Union Jack fluttering off one of the ship’s masts. Williams says the track was inspired by his infant daughter, Teddy. In fact, it seems the loving father has no shortage of inspiration when it comes to his little girl – in an interview with BBC Radio 4, he said, "Everything I do, is for her…Every time I open my mouth now in the studio it's a song about her…It would bore people to death but I could do a trilogy of albums about her." Watch the video for “Go Gentle” below: Swings Both Ways will be released a week after its flagship single – November 18. The album features a host of covers of classic tunes, including “Dream A Little Dream” (which features Lily Allen) and “I Wanna Be Like You” (which features Olly Murs). Other guests on Swings Both Ways include Rufus Wainwright, Kelly Clarkson, and Michael Buble. In addition to the covers, Williams will have six brand new songs on the album.
