Robert Downey Jr. had earlier denied that he was to star in more installments of Marvel's Iron Man. After disappointing the fans at first, the actor has now revealed that he would reprise his role as Tony Stark in the fourth film of the series, on one specific condition.
It just didn't seem right for Robert Downey Jr. to jump out of Iron Man's suit, did it? Even though there was no confirmation or official statement, he made public that he is actually willing to return for Iron Man 4, under one term. During a promotional interview for his latest film, The Judge, the actor told the press that he would star in Marvel's upcming Iron Man film, as long as Mel Gibson sits on the director's chair. More specifically, Downey Jr. was asked if he would come back with Gibson directing, with him answering "correct". In fact, he went on to state that the film would be "bananas", if that was the case.
So is that clear to both Marvel and Disney? Millions of fans would love to see Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Iron Man in the big screen and they can actually make it happen. Where there's a will, there's a way they say, so let's bring Mel Gibson in and make it all possible!
