Even though Robin Thicke failed to build up enough hype around his comeback, there’s no chance of him not launching this new era. The singer has now moved on to the next single, a collaboration with the enchanting Nicki Minaj titled “Back Together”.Robin Thicke joined forces with the likes of Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ali Payami to craft the Nicki Minaj-assisted ode to a former lover. “Back Together” finds the crooner returning with an upbeat, funk-pop sound, mixing modern beats with retro disco vibes perfectly. He manages to deliver with his vocal performance on the song, while the rapstress manages to add to the overall flow with her verse. It’s basically the kind of radio-friendly, old-school jam you didn’t know you need until now.“Back Together” serves as the second official single to be lifted from the singer’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled eighth studio album, following the lead single “Morning Sun”. It is also the second time Robin Thicke teams up with Nicki Minaj on a song, as the two previously collaborated on “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy”, off 2009′s Sex Therapy: The Session.
