I am a Rod Stewart fan and I wanted to love this album.  After hearing ‘Please’, I thought it was a for-sure hit.  But after listening through a few times and trying to make myself fall in love with more of the songs, I just could not.  His vocals are as smooth as ever and the music videos he’s released for ‘Please’ and ‘Love Is’ are outstanding.  The rest of the album falls very flat.  This is very much how I was with Billy Idol’s new album last year.  He released two amazing songs but then the rest of it was a let down.

If you love Rod Stewart too, download ‘Please’ because it is a very Rod Stewart-like song.  I will give honorable mention to the song ‘Hold the Line’ because it was also pretty great.  I have to give this album 2 out of 5 stars which pains me deeply.  Would I still go see his show where he would probably play mostly these songs?  Yes, because his energy is contagious and I will always have a soft spot for him.  Check it out.  Maybe I missed something as I listened or maybe my expectations were too high.
