23 Jump Street is already gearing up to be the third installment of the comedy franchise starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Rodney Rothman, who served as one of three writers for 22 Jump Street, will return to write the upcoming sequel. Deadline broke the news of the Rothman’s return and went on to state that the previous directors of the films, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will return to offer input in the script as producers in addition to Tatum and Hill.
The sequel opened with nearly $60 million in the U.S. alone, making its budget back and going on to accumulate nearly $320 million dollars in its worldwide box office run as well as scoring overwhelmingly positive reviews yet again. Clearly the team behind the films has determined what works for them, and a third Jump Street film is a sure to bring excitement and a large box office profit.
