The Rolling Stones have decided to cancel the remainder of their Australian and New Zealand tour following the untimely death of fashion designer L’wren Scott. Scott was the long time girlfriend of the The Rolling Stones lead Singer Mick Jagger, and was found hanged in her apartment on 11th Avenue on Monday morning.
The following statement was released by the band: "The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry and disappointed to announce the postponement of the rest of their '14 on Fire' tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of L'Wren Scott. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wish to thank all of their fans for their support at this difficult time, and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement."
On Tuesday, Jagger issued a statement in regards to Scott’s death: "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves." Jagger added that he found himself “touched” by the messages of support that were left for him. No official cause of death has been determined for L’wren Scott as of yet, but some sources have indicated that they do not suspect foul play.
