Wednesday night (October 7) fans checked in to the first episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, and emerging pop group After Romeo decided to join in on the fun. When we chatted with the guys on the Pop Nation Tour earlier this summer it was rapidly apparent that they were huge fans of the show. Not only was Blake wearing a shirt emblazoned with the show's logo, but he was also elected most likely to sit back for an old school AHS marathon. Clearly the guys were going to be tuning in for the first episode, but they decided to take things one step further to show their appreciation for the new season.
In fact, After Romeo likes American Horror Story (AHS) SO much that they decided to film their own spoof in honor of the show's new Hotel-based season. Channeling some of the most dangerous serial killers in American history, the group released a video titled "Our American Horror Story." In the terrifying footage Jayk Purdy plays the roll of John Wayne Gacy the "Killer Clown," Drew Ryan Scott tackles commune leader Charles Manson's character, Blake English plays the mysterious Zodiac Killer, and T.C. Carter channels the cannibalistic Jeffrey Dahmer. With such a horrifying theme, things were about to get a little dangerous and unhinged, and After Romeo totally delivered in the spoof.
"Our American Horror Story" sees the band of serial killers joined together for a luxurious Annual Serial Killer Banquet by the behest of a beguiling blond hostess Elizabeth Bathory. The darkly seductive hostess with the mostest applauds the men for their dirty deeds that have resulted in over 2,000 deaths in a few short months. While enjoying dinner, the crew express their distaste and distrust for one another, keeping dinner's discussion obviously horrifying.
Typical to AHS, After Romeo incorporated some campy pop culture humor by inviting Republican Presidential candidate (and head of Club Politically Incorrect) Donald Trump to the celebration. Trump claims that he has killed the hopes and dreams of millions, thereby earning the right to join the event. It seems though that the Trump may actually be serving a darker role as the main event for the evening. Prepare for a few chills while the horror unfolds:
Well, After Romeo surely had us shaking in our boots. As someone who isn't a fan of the horror genre but is still compelled to watch occasionally (how else do you keep yourself up at night for days on end?), I have to give them mad props for creating such a cute but comical effort!
Let us know if you're a fan and if you'd tune in for another episode as well!
