Rock ‘n’ roll ain’t dead, kids. That’s the message that Rox Revolt and The Velvets are screaming, loud and proud, from the midst of all the riffs in their electrifying debut video for ”Supersonica Girl”. And, alongside Maneskin and Greta Van Fleet, Roxx Revolt and The Velvets are pitching themselves as one of this generation’s stadium-filling rock bands of the future.
The band describe the track as being “…a feel-good song”, adding it’s one that: “…gets in your body and makes you feel like you have to move…” – and they’re not wrong. “Supersonica Girl” is a riotous mix of chugging guitars, fun-loving grooves and powerful vocals from Roxx.
Opening with an off-beat handclap and a walking bass line, the song instantly conjures up a fun and high-energy atmosphere which is impossible not to love. The chorus features ‘ooh ooh’ vocals which smack of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Gimme Shelter’ and cement the band’s 70s nostalgia perfectly.
Since they formed, the band, who will release their debut album next year, have had a nod from John Ryan, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s producer, and received amazing feedback from their recent performance at Gasparilla Music Festival. This puts the band in good stead to perform at Camden Rocks Presents on the 26th and 28th November alongside the greatest up-and-coming bands in the UK.
“Supersonica Girl” is set to become a party rock staple, so get on board the Roxx Revolt train before you get left behind. Check out the video for the track above and for more information on the band, visit their website, give their page a like on Facebook or follow them on Twitter and Instagram.
