Rupert Grint's Cancelled Pilot, Super Clyde, Gets New Life Online

Susan Booth

It’s truly a wonderful experience to see the former cast members of Harry Potter branch out and work on other interesting adult projects, now that Harry Potter is finished. Rupert Grint, who played the famous best friend to Harry Potter, has landed himself a series called Super Clyde. Even though the series doesn't appear to be going on air anytime soon, CBS have managed to set it up for online viewing. Greg Garcia, the man behind the creation of My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope, was the one who insisted that CBS begin streaming his now cancelled series. Garcia even wrote an email for the viewers explaining these actions. The email read: "Hello Friends, I shot a pilot for CBS called Super Clyde this spring and it didn't wind up on their fall schedule. But the good people at CBS have been kind enough to make the pilot available online. I'm really proud of this show. Mike Fresco did an amazing job directing and the cast is great. Rupert Grint, Stephen Fry, Tyler Labine and Justine Lupe. If you want to kill 20 minutes at work click on the link and check it out. Also, if you tweet and feel compelled to let other people know the pilot is out there, please do. Okay, that's it. Please forgive me for the shameless self-promotion but a lot of people worked really hard on the pilot and I think it deserves to be seen." Sadly, Greg Garcia didn’t get to see the potential that Super Clyde could have had, as the pilot was not picked up to be developed as a series. However, he does still have Raising Hope to work on, and another new comedy, The Millers, that did manage to get picked up. Super Clyde is the story of a young man who works in a fast food joint (Rupert Grint), who inherits millions of dollars from his dead uncle, and with that, he chooses to become a real life superhero. Unfortunately, the Pilot is only available for US viewers. If you live in the US and want to check it out, click here.
