Onwards, RWBY RECP fans! On to Episode 13! *crickets* ...Alright then, fuck you too. Hmph.
Team JNPR are in their dorms, Nora jumping on the bed and asking why Jaune got home so late. Ren agrees, noting he's become rather scarce since he's started fraternizing with Cardin. Nora thinks it's weird, given that they have a field trip the next day and need their rest. Pyrrha, who has been gazing solemnly out the window, adds firmly, "I'm sure our leader knows exactly what he's doing." It seems she's not only upset with him, but disappointed, too. There's a bit of a frigid edge to her voice. Not that I can blame her.
Nora agrees, and Jaune, who is outside the dorm and about to enter, instead hangs his head and closes the door. Ruby appears in her nighttime regalia and chats up Jaune, who confides his problems without revealing that Cardin has him on a leash. He believes himself to be a failure, but Ruby simply replies. "Nope" and shoots down any negative thing Jaune has to say about himself. She insists that he may have been a faiure before, but he can't be one now, because he has a team just like her, and if they both fail, they'll simply drag their teams down with them. It's not about them anymore, so they have to put their teams first and themselves second. She bids him good night.
Before Jaune can enter his dorm, he gets a message on his scroll from Cardin, who orders him to fetch a box full of rapier wasps. Jaune sighs and goes to do Cardin's bidding.
Glynda takes the students to the forest of Forever Fall at the request of the (unseen) Professor Peach, and she is there to make sure they don't die while collecting tree sap samples. Each student must obtain one jar's worth of red sap.
Jaune goes off with Cardin, despite making eye contact with Pyrrha, both of them sighing as they do their duties. Cardin has Jaune fetch all the sap samples, collecting six bottles in total. Cardin asks him if he's curious why he had him collect six, when there's only five of them there, and Jaune admits he was curious.
Cardin reveals that, according to one of the essays Jaune wrote for him last week, rapier wasps love sweet stuff. Cardin plans to teach Pyrrha a lesson by having Jaune throw the jar full of sap at her and unleashing the rapier wasps upon her. He's still salty that Pyrrha humiliated him in Oobleck's class a while back.
He tells Jaune to do it, or he'll have a chat with Goodwitch (Glynda) and he'll be on the first airship out of there. Jaune, with no choice, goes to do it before struggling with himself, seeing Pyrrha unsuspecting and unawares, and ultimately refuses, instead defying Cardin by throwing the sap at him. Cardin laughs threateningly and tells Jaune he just made a huge mistake.

Ain’t that grand? I’m a huge fan of Rooster Teeth, even if I’m relatively new. I got into it for RWBY earlier this year (sadly, after the great and true soul of Monty Oum, creator of RWBY and crew member of Red vs Blue for a few seasons and beloved Rooster Teeth employee), and then retroactively watched all of Red vs Blue and wish I grew up with it (because 10+ years of Texas? Yes please. My fave. Please give me more Texas (I never thought I’d say that in any context).), and then watched X-Ray and Vav recently.
Rooster Teeth is truly amazing, perhaps my favourite company in the world (barring PopWrapped, of course), and I think they deserve all the support and fans in the world. Make sure to buy the first two Volumes of RWBY at the Rooster Teeth store.
Anyways, now that I’m done gushing over RT (at least for this article), what did you think of “Forever Fall?” And more importantly, this deliciously idiosyncratic RECP?
Tune in next time for another episode of RWBY RECP!
