WGN America brought its very first original drama, Salem, to our screens last year. The witch-related spectacle managed to get the attention it needed to be renewed for a second season and the network has now revealed its premiere date. Mark your calendars, 'cause the long-awaited Witch War is scheduled to kick off on April 5. Salem has promised to make an even darker comeback, as Mary Sibley has reunited with her long-lost son and is prepared to perform even more hardcore witchcraft to stay comfortable on her throne. From the trailers released so far, one can tell that darkness is further spread among the living and hell is looking to take control soon. Mary and her witches will be bringing their A-game, after all. Something tells us Captain John Alden won't just sit there to watch. Salem is also bringing some new names on the table, with some serious additions to the cast. Well-known from her Warrior Princess role, Lucy Lawless will be playing Countess Marburg, the last-living relative of a legendary German line of witches. In addition to that, Stuart Townsend has landed the role of Samuel Wainwright, a puzzling doctor who's looking to unveil the dark secrets of the town. Joe Doyle will be playing the Countess' son, Baron Sebastian Marburg, while Mary's son will be portrayed by Oliver Bell. Make sure you tune in for the premiere of Salem's thirteen-episode second season on Sunday, April 5, at 10:00 p.m. ET.
