Who says techies hide behind their computer screens? Oh…wait. Last night HTC and Samsung got into a rumble over Twitter after the Mobile Industry Awards announced their winners, with HTC taking home the coveted “Hottest Phone of 2013” award.
The following hilarious snit ensued:
I’ve been reading a lot of twitter feuds lately (I have a shameful addiction to Amanda Bynes), but this is the strangest one I’ve seen yet. Let’s be honest, both companies have a lot to brag about. Samsung has arguably the best phone out there, and is the iPhone’s top competitor. I personally have an HTC phone, and while it gets the job done, it leaves a lot to be desired, so I would be interested to see what the criteria were for the judging.
LG decided to be Swiss and keep it neutral with this funny little meme:
HTC and Samsung have been hit pretty hard recently with Executives defecting and stocks plummeting. It seems as though last night was the boost they both needed to regain their footing, as well as their smack-talking abilities! Perhaps if they were to channel all of this petty bickering into creative development, they could win every award next year. Let’s keep it friendly, guys!
