So that little snippet you saw floating throughout the internet about Presidential candidate Deez Nuts? He has picked his choices for whom he would like to see become the next POTUS, of course if it is not him.

He has backed Bernie Sanders for the Democrats and John Kasich for the Republicans. Which is all well and good, especially considering Mr. Nuts is merely a 15-year-old from Iowa named Brady Olsen. Now Olsen still technically has to wait a minimum of 20 years before he can actually run for president, but a fictitious persona created online and submitted to run for President is newsworthy. Especially considering he registered almost 10% in three different states of people polled.

Perhaps the people who were polled thought it was a joke, perhaps they thought more favorably of a classic joke when compared to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, or they simply did not care. Now that is a problem and a big one.

Far too often politics has become off topic for everyone, who then site that it always ruins relationships or is uncomfortable or people genuinely would rather do something else. The largest voting demographic in the history of the United States of America is more interested in Jon Snow, than John Kasich. That could include you reader, but do not take this as an insult. This is a wake-up call for all those from the ages of 18-40.

Donald freaking Trump is leading the Republican nominee at the moment, in a field of 17. DONALD FREAKING TRUMP! We have the power to swing this election and because the majority are preoccupied with gadgets, gizmos, and everyday life we have allowed a 15-year-old to subject Deez nuts as a candidate.

I know the subject matter is extremely boring to hear them talk about, but this is our future. We complain about how America has fallen off its pedestal, site studies that show how far we truly have slipped as a nation in the global scale; but if it continues to go unnoticed or paid attention to by this generation America will continue to fall.

It doesn’t have to be everyday, but please do some homework on what these presidential candidates are standing for. One of them is going to be in charge of the executive branch of our government. Have discussion, not an argument, a discussion with people. Talk about the direction and state of our country. Yours, mine, our children are the ones who pay the most when we ignore those in power.
