The force is strong with Sarah Michelle Gellar!
The animated series Star Wars Rebels
just concluded its first season, and the one and only Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer
) has been cast in the series' second season
with a recurring role. Disney made the announcement via Star Wars Rebels
executive producer David Filon, saying, “We’re thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for season two,” adding, “She is a true Star Wars Rebels fan and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice recording sessions.” The actress took to Twitter and Instagram, posting a photo of herself looking exuberant in the studio.
Gellar has done her share of voice acting (TMNT
, Robot Chicken
, Call Of Duty: Black Ops
) and will join her husband and veteran Star Wars
voice actor Freddie Prinze Jr., along with Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop
). Gellar’s role is currently under wraps so our minds can only run rampant with speculation, but you can guarantee I’ll be in full support of her character…good or bad!
Star Wars Rebels
airs on Disney XD and is set between Episodes III and IV.
