Farewell Ohio, hello New York City! While Glee is on hiatus, Gleeks everywhere are not so patiently waiting for any kind of news they can get to tide them over until the series returns on February 25. Well my dear Gleeks, do I have news for you… Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly has confirmed that the remainder of the shows fifth season is to be set entirely in New York. Yes that’s right folks, say farewell to Lima and hello to the Big Apple for good. “For the second half of this year, the kids will graduate. We will go to New York exclusively for the second half of the year.” Reilly told reporters at the Executive session at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. So what does that mean for the kids of McKinley? “Some are going to be graduating and moving; creatively, it would be ridiculous that everybody moves to New York.” Reilly said, avoiding specific questions as to just which characters would be making the move. “There will be some that will graduate and move on and they'll arc back in when we do special episodes. They'll always be a part of it. The way it's going to dovetail next season, we'll see some familiar faces coming around in some capacity. But for this season, there will be a graduation, several of the cast members will move on and a few others will go to New York." Reilly also confirmed again that the shows sixth season would be its last “We do have it through next season, and that will be its final season.” He then went on to comment that the show’s creator Ryan Murphy did have a story arc that would carry them through, “He's got some fantastic ideas on what we're going to do next year for the final year.” While he was hesitant to reveal too much, Reilly did say that despite the fact that there would be no more McKinley, there would still be a Sue Sylvester. “As long as there’s a show, there’s Jane.” So what do you think Gleeks? Are you happy with the entire focus shifting to New York? Which characters would you like to see make the move and which ones are you happy to be left behind?
