Scarlett Johansson and French journalist, Romain Duariac, share two years of marriage together, and they share a daughter, two-year-old Rose Dorothy, together, too. However, their relationship has fallen apart.
Unfortunately, the divorce proceedings are just as disheartening.
According to an article by MSN, Johansson will make the couples' custody battle public. Her husband is saddened by the situation, and he wishes they could negotiate in private.
"It is indeed unfortunate, especially for our daughter, that Scarlett filed in court and made our personal differences so public. I would implore her to withdraw her action promptly and go back, as uncomfortable as it might be, to the negotiating table. We are the parents of a lovely daughter whom we will continue to co-parent for many years and share her joys and sorrows as only a parent can," Duariac asserts.
Even though the pair is now separated, both Johansson and Duariac remain discreet about their marital affairs. Their daughter will grow older, and read the tabloids, so neither parent wants to bash the other. Their arguments would make for ugly stories.
"I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage. Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same," Johansson relays.
While Johansson's personal life my be chaotic, her professional life is thriving.
The mother is starring in Rough Night, a movie similar to Bridesmaids, but interrupted with killer drama, literally.
Alongside Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon and Broad City's Ilana Glazer, Johansson's character reunites with her old collegiate buddies for her bachelorette party. When there's alcohol, cocaine, and a male stripper involved, what could possibly go wrong?
