The Future of Alexis Rose Communications

As Alexis prepares to move to New York, she packs up a garbage bag of her clothes and takes them over to the cafe as a gift for Twyla. Twyla thanks Alexis and then drops a bomb. Who knew Twyla’s story could get weirder? Twyla won $92 million in the lottery a few years ago and kept it a secret so people wouldn’t treat her differently. Twyla admits she likes working in the cafe because it makes her smile and doesn’t like to spend money on herself. Alexis tells her it’s okay to spend money on herself to make her smile. This results in Twyla buying the cafe, because it makes her smile and it’s for her. Later, Twyla comes by the motel and tries to repay Alexis for some of the dresses she gave her. Alexis refuses and says she needs to do this on her own. Twyla understands and the two friends hug goodbye. Looks like Alexis is going to NYC to launch her PR career!

Sunrise Bay Reboot

Moira and Johnny assume that they will be moving to New York because that’s where the new offices are. However, a package for Moira changes everything. The package contains a note from Tippy saying ‘You win’ and the diamond tennis bracelet she negotiated. Tippy calls her and tells her that they chose Moira over Clifton and that Sunrise Bay is set for a 13-episode order that starts shooting in Los Angeles in two weeks. This is everything Moira has wanted! Johnny decides that instead of New York, he’ll headquarter the Rosebud Motel Group in L.A. for now.

While this is happy news for Moira, there’s also the sad news. Moira attends her last Jazzagals rehearsal. Everyone is so excited for Moira (I mean, they’re all wearing ‘I Heart NY’ shirts) but also so sad that she’s leaving. Even Ronnie is crying! Moira may be a little bit difficult but even she made friends with these gals in this tiny town that she says she hates.

Friends and Fiancés

When David told Patrick they were moving to New York, Patrick wasn’t wild about the idea. When David and Stevie get to talking about New York, David learns two things that shake up everything: 1) Stevie and Roland are staying in Schitt’s Creek. Stevie will travel around and open up new motels but Schitt’s Creek will be home, and 2) Patrick has been looking at a house for him and David here in town. It’s the cute house that looks like Kate Winslet’s cottage in The Holiday. Patrick has come around a little bit on the idea of moving to New York but he’s still not excited about it. Their business is here and he and David started their lives together here. David tells him that he doesn’t want Patrick to move to a place he’s not excited about.

As David tries to process everything, he takes a drive with Stevie back to the house. Stevie asks David why he wants to go back to New York, a place that has hurt him over and over again. David breaks down and admits he doesn’t want his old peers in the city to think of him as a joke. Stevie tells him he won. He has Patrick and he could have this house. The emotion is so high with both David and Stevie sobbing. The moment ends abruptly when David makes a joke about Stevie’s deodorant to ease the tension and display of emotions that is so rare with David and Stevie. David puts an offer in on the house and tells his family that he’s staying in Schitt’s Creek. He has a life here and he’s not ready to mess that up just yet.

As Johnny says, the Roses may be separated but they’ll all be okay.

But will we be?
